No es la primera vez que se pasa por aquí esta británica, que tiene un gran mérito al recuperar el soul y jazz para la escena comercial, acompañándose sólo de su voz y sin tanto artificio como últimamente rodea al mundo de la música.

Si su primer disco tenía por título su edad cuando lo publicó (es decir, 19 en 2008), ahora ha decidido repetir fórmula. Así que su nuevo trabajo se llama 21. Esperemos tener álbumes de esta chica más allá de los 80 . Por cierto, que ha conseguido igualar la marca de The Beatles al colar dos singles y dos álbumes en el Top 5 británico.

Y al final se ha ganado el premio Michael Bublé. ¿La razón? Porque es una canción elegante re-interpretada por una voz elegante. De este artista se podrá decir mucho, pero para mí tiene un mérito increíble porque ha conseguido fama y reconocimiento con un género musical que no suele ser el que triunfa entre las masas.

Formó parte de su álbum It’s Time (2005), el disco que le hizo despegar y conseguir tantos premios que tendrá ahora mismo un baño entero para ponerlos (ya sabéis que está de moda entre el artisteo decir que los colocan allí).

Del concierto decir que se me hace raro ir a escuchar música a un teatro (era en el Arriaga) y estar sentadita cuando tu culo te grita que te levantes. De hecho, unos espontáneos lo han hecho al final . Preciosa puesta en escena, increíble voz de Leonor y una bis cómica desconocida de Alejandro (me ha parecido un salao). A pesar de que la música de Marlango no es precisamente la alegría de la huerta, han conseguido animar al público. Así que un diez desde aquí.

Por todo esto y más, mi melodía para hoy es esta canción que da nombre a su último disco, Back to Black (2007), con el que ha cosechado numerosos premios y buenas críticas.
