    Las colaboraciones entre Sofia Coppola y Air han sido numerosas: Lost in Translation, María Antonieta, …

    Ésta va sin letra pero con un piano que lo llena todo.

    • ]]>     Hoy he tenido tarde Apple. No os alarméis, aún no he caído en las garras de la manzana. Sólo he estado disfrutando de una lista de Spotify con canciones utilizadas en anuncios o keynotes de la marca. Y ésta precisamente se hizo conocida por un anuncio del portátil MacBook Air en 2008.

    Yael Naim es una cantautora franco-israelita que lo mismo se arranca en inglés, francés o hebreo. Junto con Noa ha sido una de las artistas israelís con mayor proyección internacional.

    El videoclip es una preciosidad. Pero tras buscarlo en YouTube y comprobar como siempre que la inserción estaba desactivada, me he llevado una sorpresa: en dailymotion está permitida la inserción y ha sido la propia discográfica Warner la que lo ha subido… Así que estoy desconcertada en cuanto a quién solicita la desactivación: antes pensaba que las grandes mayors. Ahora tengo mis dudas… ¿alguien que me pueda aclarar el tema?

    • ]]>     Volvemos otra vez con un clásico. Esta vez son Sting y sus chicos, que el año pasado volvieron a juntarse para recorrer los escenarios de medio mundo. Y seguramente una de las canciones más pedidas fuera este “So Lonely”. Nació allá por 1978 en el álbum Outlandos d’Amour junto con otras muchas perlas (Roxanne, Can’t Stand Losing You, …). Pero todas corrieron la misma suerte: de inicio no llamaron mucha la atención y, sin embargo, luego dieron el pelotazo.

    Una inyección de energía para sobrellevar esta semana con un ritmo muy reggae (y es que Sting reconoció que la base de la canción es “No Woman, No Cry” del maestro Marley).

    • ]]>     oracular spectacularQué abandonadito tengo esto últimamente… Intentaré enmendar la plana, pero no prometo nada, porque el mundo de la reunión constante se ha apoderado de mi vida laboral, lo que hace que llegue a casa fundida y con pocas ganas de encender un ordenador.

    Tras el momento “excusa”, hoy toca canción movidita que no conocía (no soy muy pro-MGMT) pero que forma parte ya de mi banda sonora personal porque es la cabecera musical que han seleccionado para la sección “De las Ondas a la Red“, programa de radio en el que colaboro. Este Kids es el tercer single de su disco Oracular Spectacular. Como curiosidad de la melodía, el grupo tiene un contencioso con Nicolás Sarkozy, tras el uso de forma ilegal de la canción en una conferencia (ya sabéis, el precursor de ley Hadopi… en fin….).

    • ]]>     Carátula del disco de Nouvelle VagueLos reyes de las versiones, los franceses Marc Collin y Olivier Libaux, han parido auténticas perlas acompañados de diferentes voces. Se atreven con éxitos de The Clash, Depeche Mode, Blondie, … Pero hoy me voy a quedar con ésta de Modern English de 1982: I melt with you (que ha sido versionada por otros muchos artistas como Jason Mraz, Sugarcult, …). Pero ésta le añade un toque más de erotismo a la ya de por sí sugerente letra gracias a la voz de Silja y al toque de bossa nova.

    Dicen que cuando seleccionan a las voces femeninas, buscan a mujeres que no conozcan las canciones que se van a versionar para asegurarse de que saga algo realmente original. Tengo muchas otras canciones de Nouvelle Vague en la recámara ;-) . Desde su propia página permiten la descarga de algunas.

    • ]]>     television-marquee_moonHoy toca una recomendación muy especial, porque viene de, casi podríamos llamarlo ya, un colaborador fijo de esta bitácora: Duczen. Hace ya muchísimo que me la había mandado (siento el retraso, pero es que se me encolan un montón…). Además le voy a hacer una trampilla, puesto que en esta gran presentación nos iba a dejar con Amaral y su Biarritz, pero yo me voy a quedar con Marquee Moon de Television:

    Hace apenas unas semanas he estado presenciando una vez más un concierto de Amaral, esta vez en Hoyos del Espino (Ávila). A mí me gustan y en directo más aún. En esta ocasión también tocaron “Moriría por vos“. Siempre que escucho esta canción me acuerdo -¿por qué será?- de Nicolage Cages llenando el carrito de la compra con cantidades indecentes de alcohol en Leaving las Vegas… y de paso tarareo -o destrozo- la letra:

    ¡Que se pare el mundo que yo me bajo!, o siendo menos exagerado, ¡Esperar un momento!. ¿Sabremos qué es eso de “marquimun”?.

    Busquemos pues… searching…. loading… muestring… ¿muestring?. Marquee Moon fue el primer álbum de Television, una banda de rock norteamericana de finales de los años ’70 (al parecer) muy influyente, y cuya canción, que da nombre a ese trabajo, tiene un sonido de guitarras monumental.

    Terminando igual que empezamos y a riesgo de sobresaturar con (los omnipresentes) Amaral. En su último trabajo, Gato Negro Dragón Rojo, rescatan una canción que Juan Aguirre (el guitarrista) tocaba con su anterior grupo Días de Vino y Rosas. El tema es Biarritz (aquí podéis escuchar su versión original).

    • ]]>     Depeche Mode - Enjoy The SilenceHoy se cumplen dos meses desde que arrancase esta bitácora y unos señores llamados Depeche Mode, para celebrarlo, me han compuesto una cancioncilla: Enjoy The Silence (Violator, 1990). Que ustedes disfruten del silencio ;-)

    Actualmente hay 40 silencios (41 con éste) y más de 170 comentarios. Todo un éxito, no sólo personal teniendo en cuenta lo vaga que soy escribiendo en mi blog personal, sino también por la participación: se han publicado 7 recomendaciones externas y aún quedan muchas en la lista de espera. Está claro que Mak es nuestro top-comentarista. Le siguen: May a.k.a. “el tío que me llama continuamente moñas”, Icekahlua y Antonio.

    Por ahora se va desmarcando como tipo de música que me gusta: la cantada en el idioma de Shakespeare, principalmente por grupos de rock, pop e indie (o eso lanza mi nube de tags).

Por eso llega este Breathe, canción que podemos encontrar en el álbum de igual nombre (1996) y que se hizo muy popular por su aparición en varios anuncios publicitarios. El autor, Midge Ure fue el lider del grupo Ultravox.
