Debo confesarlo: soy una fan absoluta de esta mujer. Su primer disco es tremendo y estas dos perlitas que nos ha dejado ver del segundo no desmerecen nada. Eso sí, no sé si os pasará a vosotros, pero empiezo a cansarme de la nueva moda que se ha instaurado de goteo de singles antes de sacar un álbum. Prefiero degustar los trabajos completos porque, cuando son buenas canciones las que adelantan, me quedo con ganas de más.

No es la primera vez que se pasa por aquí esta británica, que tiene un gran mérito al recuperar el soul y jazz para la escena comercial, acompañándose sólo de su voz y sin tanto artificio como últimamente rodea al mundo de la música.

Si su primer disco tenía por título su edad cuando lo publicó (es decir, 19 en 2008), ahora ha decidido repetir fórmula. Así que su nuevo trabajo se llama 21. Esperemos tener álbumes de esta chica más allá de los 80 . Por cierto, que ha conseguido igualar la marca de The Beatles al colar dos singles y dos álbumes en el Top 5 británico.

Con su disco debut For Lovers, Dreamers & Me consiguió que muchas miradas se fijaran en ella en el 2007. Ya hablaban de la futura Norah Jones o Alicia Keys, sin embargo no ha sacado nada nuevo desde aquel álbum. Eso no quiere decir que se haya bajado de los escenarios, porque es una todo-terreno del directo. Yo la descubrí gracias a la serie Entourage (benditas bandas sonoras que te traen estas perlas).

Dream es una canción que crece con el paso de los segundos hasta llegar a un final apoteósico. Una carga de drama que va in-crecento. A partir del minuto 4 se te ponen los pelos de punta.
