\"snakepit\"Otro caluroso domingo de recomendaci\u00f3n y volvemos a pasarle el micro a MaY<\/a>, todo un ilustre de este blog \ud83d\ude42 :<\/p>\n

Corr\u00eda 1995. El pop pegaba con fuerza en todo el mundo y solo un pu\u00f1ado de irreductibles sobreviv\u00edan en Guns n’ Roses. El problema es que su \u00faltimo disco (The Spaghetti Incident? de 1993) no val\u00eda ni el pl\u00e1stico en el que estaba hecho (*). Y encima, el ego de Axl Rose (el Rose de Roses) empezaba a ocasionar tensiones, con lo que cada miembro de GnR empezaba a experimentar con proyectos propios.<\/p>\n

Slash’s Snakepit naci\u00f3 en 1994 como un grupo alternativo fundado por Slash (el guitarra de GnR) al que pronto se le unieron Matt Sorum y Gilby Clark (batera y guitarra r\u00edtmica de GnR ambos) completando la primera formaci\u00f3n con Mike Inez (bajo de Alice in Chains) y Eric Dover de Jellyfish como vocalista. La cosa es que ya hab\u00eda grupo, pero no hab\u00eda nombre. Resulta que la banda ensayaba en los bajos de la casa de Slash, donde el grepas ten\u00eda montado un terrario con serpientes y dem\u00e1s bichos. Con lo que el nombre vino rodado.<\/p>\n

El tema \u00abBeen There Lately\u00bb pertenece al segundo disco de la banda (Ain’t Life Grand) con una formaci\u00f3n renovada. Personalmente, me encanta porque es un tema rock a la antigua usanza, con un solo de guitarra enorme a cargo del se\u00f1or Slash y estribillo poderoso que te invita a hacer el \u00abAir Guitar\u00bb. O por lo menos, menear el esqueleto.<\/p>\n

(*) Como curiosidad, todav\u00eda hay gente que se pregunta -yo entre ellos-, como un grupo que tiene uno de los mejores discos de rock de la historia -el Appetite for Descruction- pudo perpetrar semejante despr\u00f3posito. Malo con avaricia.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
