Sus componentes, la cantante Alison Mosshart (\u00abVV\u00bb) y el guitarrista Jamie Hince (\u00abHotel\u00bb), se conocieron en un hotel. Mosshart escuch\u00f3 a Hince practicar con la guitarra en la habitaci\u00f3n que estaba debajo de la suya. All\u00ed se cruzaron sus caminos.
