Ash – Polaris

AshSeguimos con música de anuncios. Esta vez he seleccionado la melodía que acompaña a la publicidad de La Sexta.

Corre a cargo de la banda irlandesa Ash, que lleva más de quince años dándonos grandes canciones. Como este Polaris, que fue el segundo single de su último disco en el mercado Wilight of the Innocents (2007). Y dicen además que será el último en su carrera ya que a partir de ahora sólo lanzarán singles en formato digital. Para ellos el formato CD ha muerto.

Syntax – Pride

SyntaxEstupenda elección la que han hecho en rtve para su última campaña publicitaria. Ya la había escuchado anteriormente en la banda sonora de Nip & Tuck, pero he tenido que tirar de google para dar con el nombre de la canción. Y me he sorprendido al descubrir en la cantidad de bandas sonoras de series que ha aparecido: The O.C., Bones, CSI, Ley y Orden, …

Mike Tournier y Jan Burton forman este grupo de música electrónica que tan sólo tiene un disco en la calle: Meccano Mind (2004). Aunque están ya trabajando en su segundo álbum.

La Fuga – Balada Del Despertador

La FugaAún recuerdo la tristeza que me produjo la separación de Platero y tú. Fito iba a iniciar una nueva andadura. Pero entonces apareció otro Fito en escena, la voz de este grupo cántabro, que hizo la pena un poco menos dura.

Y más con esta melodía que se marcaron mano a mano con Aurora Beltrán (Tahúres Zurdos) dentro del disco A las doce (2002). Como ellos mismos la definen: una canción para calentar el alma.

Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars

Eyes OpenÉsta es mi canción más escuchada según last.fm. Y es que fue la que me descubrió a esta banda escocesa, que pronto sacará su quinto disco A Hundred Million Suns (del que ya podemos escuchar su primer single Take Back The City).

Poco puedo decir de ella, salvo que, a pesar de haberla oído una y mil veces, aún me sigue encogiendo el corazón. Me quedo con su Those three words are said too much. They’re not enough, y es que a veces usamos a la ligera palabras, haciendo que pierda valor su significado.

Marah – Sooner Or Later [Recomendación]

MarahPrimera recomendación de octubre y post número 100 en este blog (me encantan los números redondos 😉 ) de la mano de sagudino:

Ahora que ha terminado el Azkena Rock Festival y que este año no he ido (realmente sólo fui en 2006), me animo a recomendarte algo. Dicen que no hay mejor forma de descubrir a un grupo que encima del escenario. Y tuve esa suerte con Marah, en el Azkena Rock de 2006. Fueron los que más me gustaron de aquella edición y desde entonces no paro de escuchar su disco If you didn’t laugh, You`d Cry de 2005. En 2008 han editado otro disco, pero me quedé con tan buen sabor de boca que ya no será lo mismo.
