Neon Trees – Animal

Ecuador de la semana y como no me dé chutes de energía musical, no llego al viernes. Así que os animo a subir el volumen y hacer un poco el animal con Neon Trees. Toda una terapia ;-).

Qué podemos decir de Neon Trees: pues que unos chiquitos de Utah, vecinos ellos, montaron su banda con la buena suerte de ser descubiertos y seleccionados para telonear a nada más y nada menos que The Killers. Tras esto, primer disco a la calle (Habits, 2010) y primer hit a las listas: Animal. A eso se le llama llegar y besar el santo. Les perdonaremos el haber versionado a Justin Bieber… (¡gensanta!). Death Cab For Cutie – Transatlanticism

El otro día comentaba con alguien cómo la música acompaña los estados de ánimo. Cuando no estás para tirar cohetes, sueles rodearte de canciones que dan ganas de morir. Cuando estás arriba, sin embargo, el buen rollo y la energía forman parte de tu banda sonora.

Y, en cambio, yo no soy capaz de usar una música u otra para cambiar de estado de ánimo. Sólo me sirve para acompañarlo. Lo que sí me ayuda es a «amansar» a la bestia que llevo dentro.

Tras este preámbulo, no os tengo que contar cómo estoy con la canción seleccionada para hoy. Este single dio nombre al cuarto disco de estudio de los Death Cab For Cutie (a los que tenía últimamente muy abandonados): Transatlanticism (2003). Emociones a flor de piel con la letra, el acompañamiento de piano, la guitarra y casi ocho minutos de melodía.

Michael Bublé – Feeling Good

Mi estado anímico ha marcado la canción de hoy. Pero ante un clasicazo como es «Feeling Good«, había muchos artistas donde elegir: Nina Simone, Muse, Eels, …

Y al final se ha ganado el premio Michael Bublé. ¿La razón? Porque es una canción elegante re-interpretada por una voz elegante. De este artista se podrá decir mucho, pero para mí tiene un mérito increíble porque ha conseguido fama y reconocimiento con un género musical que no suele ser el que triunfa entre las masas.

Formó parte de su álbum It’s Time (2005), el disco que le hizo despegar y conseguir tantos premios que tendrá ahora mismo un baño entero para ponerlos (ya sabéis que está de moda entre el artisteo decir que los colocan allí).

Espero que os haga sentir a los que os paséis por aquí también bien, o al menos durante los cinco minutos que dura la canción:
