El mundo de la música está poblado de bulevares de sueños rotos. Desde el dedicado por Sabina a la gran Chavela Vargas: «En el bulevar de los sueños rotos vive una dama de poncho rojo, pelo de plata y carne morena. Mestiza ardiente de lengua libre, gata valiente de piel de tigre con voz de rayo de luna llena…«, hasta el que aparece retratado en la canción de Moulin Rouge, sin olvidarnos de esta emotiva canción de Green Day. Es una de mis preferidas de este grupo de punk que ha sabido reinventarse muchas veces. American Idiot (2004) fue el máximo exponente de esa reinvención.
Habla de la avenida de los perdedores. Aquella que está cubierta de añicos que antaño fueran pretensiones. Da miedo caminar por ella, porque te los puedes clavar muy hondo y casi siempre toca cruzarla en solitario: «I walk alone, I walk alone, …«.
