El año está llegando a su fin y la que escribe lo espera con ansia porque no ha sido bueno, ni mucho menos. Atrás queda uno de los momentos más duros de mi vida. Uno de esos que sólo cura el tiempo. Así que mañana tomaré una copa de champán con una única frase en mi cabeza: Everything’s Gonna Be Alright.
Sweetbox es un proyecto creado en 1995 por los productores musicales Heiko Schmidt y Roberto «Geo» Rosan que ha tenido numerosas «voces»: Kimberley Kearney (1995-1996), Dacia Bridges (1995-1996), Tina Harris (1997-1999), Jade Villalon (2000-2007) y Jamie Pineda (2007 – actualmente). El estilo que les define es la mezcla de música clásica con sonidos modernos. Y esta canción, interpretada por Tina Harris en 1998, funde el hip hop con Johann Sebastian Bach (Air).

Ayer estuvimos visitando el Artium (el museo de arte moderno de Vitoria) y había una exposición de Patti Smith (un ejemplo excelente de lo importante que es tener un nombre famoso para que te coloquen en un museo… ¬_¬ ). Así como lo que vi no me inspiró nada en absoluto, lo que sí me gustó fue un documental que había sobre su vida. Y me di cuenta de que no había colocado nada de esta vieja gloria del rock. Así que hoy dejo su canción más archiconocida: Because The Night, escrita mano a mano con Bruce Springsteen allá por 1978. De hecho, la escribió el Boss para su disco Darkness on the Edge of Town pero el estilo de la canción no iba con el resto del álbum. Así que, por casualidades de la vida, Patti y su banda, que estaban grabando Easter en el estudio de al lado, se quedaron con la melodía.
Llegan fechas especiales. Yo que tengo cero espíritu navideño, valoro exclusivamente estos días por las posibilidades que me dan de estar con los míos (prioridad en la vida). Y qué mejor que este Somewhere Over The Rainbow para celebrarlo. Desde que
