A la espera de que Septiembre traiga nuevos discos que paladear igual que llegan los coleccionables a los quioscos, toca tirar de clásicos. Y tras celebrarse estos días el 40 aniversario de uno de los eventos musicales más importantes de la Historia, el festival de Woodstock, me veo obligada a seleccionar a una de las cantantes que participó. La voz rasgada participó junto a otros mitos de la época como Jimi Hendrix, Joan Baez, The Who, Santana, Joe Cocker, … Este pedacito de corazón fue una versión de la melodía de Erma Franklin realizada por Janis junto a Big Brother and the Holding Company (os recomiendo escuchar la original, porque es un cambio importante el carácter que le impone la voz de Janis).
Como muchos de sus compañeros, su vida se escapó por el abuso de las drogas pero nos quedaron grandes joyas. Una pena no haber podido disfrutar de su directo, aunque sí he escuchado una versión de este «Piece Of My Heart» a manos de Aurora Beltrán, la voz de Tahúres Zurdos.
