The Maccabees – Pelican

Seguimos con el repaso del Bilbao BBK Live 2012. En esta ocasión les toca a los ingleses de Brighton, The Maccabees, que para decidir el nombre de su grupo, abrieron la Biblia y seleccionaron una palabra al azar. Como veis, todo originalidad. A esto se le suma un buen directo y canciones pegadizas, como este Pelican y su forma de repetir estrofas, primer single de su último trabajo (Given to the Wild, 2012).

Como dice la canción, algo está claro: todos nos hacemos mayores, así que toca subir el volumen de esta melodía y cantarla a grito pelado:

Belako – Beautiful World

Comenzamos el repaso a lo que ha sido la séptima edición del BBK Live y qué mejor que hacerlo con la primera canción que escuché según entré al recinto: Beatiful World de Belako.

Un grupo formado por cuatro jóvenes de Mungia y Bilbao que están entre los 17 y 20 años (bendita juventud). Por ahora solo tienen una maqueta en mySpace. Sin embargo, tras ganar el concurso de Radio Gaztea, han podido formar parte del cartel del Bilbao BBK Live. Una suerte haberles visto en directo.

Snow Patrol – New York

Seguimos con el repaso de canciones que probablemente escuchemos la semana que viene en directo en el BBK Live. En esta ocasión le toca el turno a Snow Patrol, que espero que nos regale viejas joyas de anteriores álbumes y ésta de su último disco, Fallen Empires (2011).

Además, siendo como es julio, algunas siempre nos ponemos a recordar ese viaje que nos pegamos a la ciudad de los rascacielos. Y lo que más me gusta de Nueva York es que puedes ir con una maceta en la cabeza y nadie te mirará. De hecho, el propio grupo Snow Patrol se fue a Times Square a cantar esta melodía y pasaron totalmente desapercibidos entre la masa :-D.

Keane – Silenced By The Night

Comienza julio y eso significa que tenemos ya a las puertas el Bilbao BBK Live (a pesar de la decepción que tenemos algunos/as por el cartel de este año).

Toca, por tanto, ir calentando los últimos discos de los grupos que por allí se pasarán: Radiohead, The Cure, Garbage, Snow Patrol, The Kooks, Mumford & Sons, Supersubmarina, Vetusta Morla, …

Hoy es el turno de Keane y su álbum de 2012: Strangeland con este «Silenced By The Night» como primer single del mismo. La escucha del disco no aporta mucha novedad a lo que es el estilo de este grupo. Sin embargo, esta canción entra fácilmente por el oído y se te pega con suma facilidad.

Además, en un blog de silencios, esta melodía silenciada por la noche tenía que hacer presencia.
