Counting Crows – Colorblind [Recomendación]

This Desert LifeLa recomendación de esta semana viene de la mano de Felipe el Argentinian. Se trata de la triste Colorblind de los Counting Crows, que repiten en este blog. Yo descubrí esta melodía a través de la banda sonora de Crueles Intenciones, de la que también se han publicado anteriormente otras canciones. Sin más, os dejo con Felipe:

Harry Nilsson – Everybody’s Talking

Cowboy de medianoche¡Guten tag! Ya estoy de vuelta de tierras bávaras (que no bárbaras, porque los alemanes son de lo más educado y disciplinado que he visto jamás). Dejaré caer una crónica del viaje en mi blog personal, pero no podía dejar este reducto en silencio por más tiempo. Y para ello qué mejor que una canción mítica de nada más y nada menos que 1969, banda sonora de una no menos mítica película: Cowboy de Medianoche.

Escrita por Fred Neil e interpretada por Harry Nilsson (por desgracia ambos nos han dejado en 2001 y 1994 respectivamente). Existen numerosas versiones pero no pienso poner ninguna (estoy en modo provocador 😉 ), sino que espero que me las vayáis indicando en los comentarios.

Chiara Mastroianni – Eye Of The Tiger

PersépolisHoy la entrada no puede ser más cinematográfica. Todos hemos tarareado la archiconocida sintonía de la película Rocky a cargo del grupo Survivor cuando estábamos haciendo algún tipo de ejercicio.

De ésta nació una versión para la película Persépolis (os recomiendo encarecidamente que os leáis el comic de Marjane Satrapi). Y ahora se está usando esta misma versión en el último anuncio del Volkswagen Polo.

La voz ejecutora es, nada más y nada menos que la hija de Catherine Deneuve y Marcello Mastroianni: Chiara. Actriz y cantante (con esos genes bastante si no ha salido trompetista también). Ya os dije que la cosa iba más de imagen que de música 😉

Syntax – Pride

SyntaxEstupenda elección la que han hecho en rtve para su última campaña publicitaria. Ya la había escuchado anteriormente en la banda sonora de Nip & Tuck, pero he tenido que tirar de google para dar con el nombre de la canción. Y me he sorprendido al descubrir en la cantidad de bandas sonoras de series que ha aparecido: The O.C., Bones, CSI, Ley y Orden, …

Mike Tournier y Jan Burton forman este grupo de música electrónica que tan sólo tiene un disco en la calle: Meccano Mind (2004). Aunque están ya trabajando en su segundo álbum.

Peter Gabriel – The Book Of Love [Recomendación]

The Book of lovePrimera recomendación tras el parón veraniego. Viene de la mano de Nacho, persona inlinkeable… por el momento 😉 , con el que comparto gustos musicales. Varias son las sugerencias que me ha mandado, pero ésta me ha gustado especialmente. Os dejo con él:

Hoy me ocurrió algo curioso… estuve todo el día trabajando en Madrid y a la vuelta a casa en AVE un poco agotado, la verdad, me quedé totalmente dormido con los cascos del hilo musical del tren. Al despertar ya casi llegando a Málaga sonaba la siguiente canción y mi primer pensamiento fue que era un sonido tan dulce, triste, y una voz tan sumamente característica la de Peter Gabriel que seguro que, en caso de no conocer la canción, podría ser de las que te encantarían.

Y, por supuesto, estaba en la cierto 🙂 . Se trata de una versión de Peter Gabriel para la película ¿Bailamos? de la canción de The Magnetic Fields. Otra melodía más para nuestra pelea de versiones en el grupo Silencio.
