Letra:

I am color…blind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am

taffy stuck, tongue tied
Stuttered shook and uptight
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am…fine

I am covered in skin
No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded, and unfolded, and unfolding
I am
colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am… fine
I am… fine
I am… fine

The Script – The Man Who Can’t Be Moved

The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.

The Script – The man who cant be moved

Letra:

Going Back to the corner where I first saw you
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag I’m not gonna move
Got some words on cardboard, got your picture in my hand
saying, «if you see this girl can you tell her where I am»

Some people try to hand me money, they don’t understand
I’m not broke I’m just a broken hearted man
I know it makes no sense but what else can I do
How can I move on when I’m still in love with you

[estribillo]
Cause If one day you wake up and find your missing me
and your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be
Thinkin maybe you’ll come back here to the place that we’d meet
And you’ll see me waiting for you on our corner of the street
So I’m not moving, I’m not moving

Policeman says, «son you can’t stay here»
I said, «there’s someone I’m waiting for If it’s a day, a month, a year»
Gotta stand my ground even if it rains or snows
If she changes her mind this is the first place she will go

[estribillo]

People talk about the guy that’s waiting on a girl
There are no holes in his shoes but a big hole in his world

Maybe i’ll get famous as the man who can’t be moved
Maybe you wont mean to but you’ll see me on the news
And you’ll come running to the corner
cause you’ll know it’s just for you
I’m the man who can’t be moved

[estribillo]

Going Back to the corner where I first saw you
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag I’m not gonna move

Manic Street Preachers – If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next

He estado en duda entre publicar Your Love Alone Is Not Enough a dúo con Nina Person (cantante de The Cardigans), A Design for Life y esta evocadora canción.

Letra:

The future teaches you to be alone
The present to be afraid and cold
So if I can shoot rabbits
Then I can shoot fascists

Bullets for your brain today
But well forget it all again
Monuments put from pen to paper
Turns me into a gutless wonder

[estribillo]
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
And if you tolerate this
Then your children will be next
Will be next
Will be next
Will be next

Gravity keeps my head down
Or is it maybe shame
At being so young and being so vain

Holes in your head today
But I’m a pacifist
I’ve walked las ramblas
But not with real intent

[estribillo]

And on the street tonight an old man plays
With newspaper cuttings of his glory days

Ocean Colour Scene – Better Day

Interesante la frase: When youre giving everything away, everybody lets you pay.

Letra:

Sonny signed his name up for tomorrow
And laughed with all this friends
At all the little men who borrow tunes
They heard just yesterday

Davey got us down but we got away
And drank to all the days
That we had whiled away
Just playing robin hood a little out of phase

[estribillo]
And then the nightmares come
And you get blown away
And up in your room your walls are cold
You find your head is holding out
For the welcome of a better day
And then the nightmares come
And you get blown away
And up in your room
Your walls are getting colder
Like you’re getting on a roller coaster
You cant find the breaks

Stevie burned the sky when he flew away
And left us things to say
When all the world was falling down
Around our shoulders; cold and grey

Harry carried on in his usual way
And Minnie went inside
He came out once and we both cried
And Minnie blew my head away

[estribillo]

When youre giving everything away
Everybody lets you pay
Youre saving up for a better day
Seeing things in a better way
When you know you’ve got to live
Theres nothing you wont give
To hear the phone and not let it ring
Every monday morning

Shughie found love and he almost cried
We laughed and wondered why
We loved the sky and found the space
And gazed out over stevies plane

And then the nightmares come
when your friends go away
And up in your room your walls are cold
You find your head is holding out
For the welcome of a better day
And then the nightmares come
And you get blown away
And up in your room
Your walls are getting colder
Like youre getting on a roller coaster
You cant find the breaks

Guns N’ Roses – Sympathy For The Devil

Otras versiones: Natalie Merchant, Pearl Jam, U2, …

Letra:

Please allow me to introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
I’ve been around for a long long year stolen many man’s soul and faith
I was around when Jesus Christ had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate washed his hands and sealed his fate

[estribillo]
Pleased to meet you hope you guess my name
But what’s puzzling you is the nature of my game

Stuck around St. Petersburg when I saw it was a time for a change
I killed the Tzar and his ministers, Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank held a gen’rals rank when the blitzkrieg
raged and the bodies stank

[estribillo]

I watched the glee while your kings and queens fought for
ten decades for the Gods they made
I shouted out «Who killed the Kennedy’s?» when after all
it was you and me
Let me please intruduce myself I’m a man of wealth and taste
And I lay traps for troubadors who get killed before they reach Bombay

[estribillo]

Just as every cop is a criminal and all the sinners, Saints
as heads is tails, just call me Lucifer ‘cause I’m in need
of some restraint
So if you meet me, have some courtesy have some sympathy
and some taste
Use all your well learned politesse or I’ll lay your soul to waste

[estribillo]
