Aimee Mann – Wise Up

Aimee Mann - Wise UpCreo que una de las bandas sonoras más melancólicas que he escuchado nunca es la perteneciente a la película Magnolia (esa en la que Tom Cruise se muestra tal y cómo es 😉 ). Aimee Mann participó con nueve canciones (con Save Me fue nominada a los Oscars, pero perdió ante la melodía compuesta por Phil Collins para Tarzán). Sin embargo, yo me quedo con Wise Up, en la que se explica que entender la verdad sobre algo es costoso y normalmente es un proceso que hacemos tarde, cuando ya es difícil rectificar o detenerse.

Skin – FaithfulnessVolvemos a la carga tras unos días de descanso (por cierto, pronto cogeré vacaciones, y conmigo, también este blog).

Deborah Dyer, la ex-voz del grupo Skunk Anansie, decidió un día aventurarse en solitario como Skin (el nombre viene de skinny, flaca) y en su disco debut (Fleshwounds, 2002) podemos encontrar esta oda llena de fuerza. Una voz peculiar para una cantante peculiar. Que la fidelidad sea con vosotros 😉

LiquidoVolvemos con una canción viejuna (data de 1997) pero que aún sigue viva a través de películas y anuncios. Puede incluso que salgas este fin de semana de fiesta y la escuches. Se trata de otra killer-song del primer disco del grupo alemán Liquido (poco más se supo de ellos).

The Cranberries – Zombie [Recomendación]

The CranberriesComo esta semana ando igual que el título de esta canción, os dejo con la recomendación que me hacía ya hace un tiempo Antonio (llevo mucho retraso con vuestros envíos, pero sed pacientes 😉 ).

¿Te gustaría pinchar algo de los Cranberries? Por ejemplo Zombie, con el vídeo oficial, que fue un bombazo en el tiempo, diez años ahora y es parte de la banda sonora de nuestra vida, ¿no te parece?.

Una canción protesta de esta banda irlandesa ante el conflicto armado que asolaba su país y que podemos encontrar dentro del disco No Need to Argue (1994). Sin duda, los niños son los más perjudicados de estos enfrentamientos. De hecho, Zombie fue escrita en memoria de dos chicos, Jonathan Ball y Tim Parry, asesinados en un atentado bomba del IRA.

Amy Winehouse – Back To Black

Amy Winehouse - Back To BlackÚltimamente esta mujer es noticia día sí, día también, y casi nunca por su música. Y es que podrá tener una vida llena de desbarajustes, pero lo que no podemos negar es que es una fuera de serie. Tiene ese «algo» que no se puede definir y que la diferencia de todo lo que se está escuchando actualmente. Además, ha logrado el éxito en unos géneros que no suelen ser muy «taquilleros»: el soul y el jazz.

Por todo esto y más, mi melodía para hoy es esta canción que da nombre a su último disco, Back to Black (2007), con el que ha cosechado numerosos premios y buenas críticas.

Habrá que aprovechar su música, porque con el ritmo de vida que lleva (¡es más joven que yo!), me temo que se sumará a la lista de mitos en poco tiempo.
