Silencio

Echando un vistazo al etiquetado de este blog, veo que el idioma de Shakespeare gana por goleada. Así que hoy toca un silencio de compensación, pero que no está aquí para equilibrar, sino que se ha ganado el puesto por méritos propios.

Se trata de la versionaca que se ha marcado Fabián de uno de esos himnos que creó Alaska y Dinarama allá por 1984. La descubría en uno de mis blogs musicales de cabecera. Poco más se puede decir de esta canción (quien no la conozca, es que ha nacido recientemente… y aún así esto no le exime de la culpa ).

De Fabián sí se pueden contar muchas y grandes cosas: este leonés lleva 4 discos en su haber y es un cantautor de tomo y lomo. Sus letras son precisas y preciosas. Pronto le traeremos por aquí también con algo propio.

Si la semana pasada tenía en el reproductor una y otra vez a Lana Del Rey, esta vez se me ha colado Lady Halcón . Con un único disco homónimo en el mercado, en 2008 sorprendió a propios y extraños. De hecho, tenía en mi lista de silencios pendientes un éxito de esa época: My Delirium.

Pero hoy he escuchado el avance de lo que será su nuevo trabajo, y llevo todo el día tarareando el estribillo de “Black White & Blue”, que se ha adelantado para estrenar la ficha de Ladyhawke aquí.

El 19 de marzo podremos disfrutar de su segundo álbum completo: Anxiety y pinta todo muy bonito.

Hablando en modo twitter, se podría decir que Lana Del Rey (también conocida por sus padres como Lizzy Grant) lleva siendo una buena temporada trending topic . Y es que con su álbum Born to Die recién salido del horno (es una de las novedades del 2012) ya ha conseguido que el primer single sea una de las canciones más versionadas: Video Games (por Kasabian, Jamie Cullum, Bombay Bicycle Club, …). Muchos pensaréis: ¿cómo es posible si acaba de salir el disco al mercado? Pues con esta moda de pre-estrenar canciones, lanzó este sencillo el 10 de octubre de 2011 y desde entonces todo han sido éxitos y buenas críticas. Ahora ya tenemos el paquete completo (me encanta eso de nacida para morir… cuánta razón…).

Tengo un listado de grupos de los que espero con impaciencia trabajos nuevos. Uno de ellos es The XX, que con su único álbum homónimo nos conquistó a todos. Como por ahora no tienen intenciones de deleitarnos con más delicatessen, calmaré mis ansias con esta preciosa versión de Birdy de uno de sus éxitos: Shelter.

Birdy le aporta un toque de fragilidad extra a la canción. Esta chiquilla de apenas 15 años ganó el concurso de talentos Open Mic UK cuando tan sólo tenía 12. De hecho, lo hizo con otra versión: Skinny Love del grupo Bon Iver.

Rebuscando en este blog me he echado las manos a la cabeza: ¡no había puesto nada aún de Oasis!. Ese grupo formado por los ínclitos hermanos Gallagher, unos malditos genios que, sin embargo, no pudieron con el peor de sus enemigos: ellos mismos.

Ahora cada uno anda por su lado: Liam con el grupo Beady Eye y Noel con su proyecto en solitorio High Flying Birds. Pero si bien en ocasiones ocurre que cuando bandas se disuelven, los elementos resultantes de esa separación son iguales de buenos o mejores que la anterior banda, aquí hemos salido perdiendo. El pack Oasis es difícilmente superable y necesita de los dos hermanos. Aunque me temo que por mucho que necesiten dinero, no les volveremos a ver nunca más juntos. Así que disfrutemos de clásicos como este “Stop crying your heart out“, que viene que ni pintado para los tiempos que corren:

Con sólo un álbum en el mercado (Sigh No More, 2009), este cuarteto londinense ha cardado la lana y se ha ganado merecidamente su lana. No hay como escuchar su single debut y descubrir la calidad de su música. Eso sí, no se han librado del puritanismo americano, que les obligó a retirar en algunas versiones para la radio la palabra fuck de su estribillo.

Me encanta el guitarreo inicial y esta estrofa: “Take all the courage you have left wasted on fixing all the problems that you made in your own head“. Y es que como decía mi abuelo, lo más difícil en esta vida es llevarse bien con uno mismo y que nuestros propios demonios no nos machaquen.

Tras semanas de rumorología, por fin se ha confirmado oficialmente: el año que viene tendremos a Radiohead en directo en Bilbao. Un grupo que ya vale una entrada para el BBK Live (aunque espero que con esto no se duerman en los laureles y nos traigan otras grandes bandas ).

Y para celebrarlo, traigo a este rincón otra canción más de Radiohead. Clasicazo donde los haya que esperamos escuchar en directo y que viene que ni pintado para estas señaladas fechas donde muchas casas se llenan de fake plastic trees .

Semana movidita en el plano musical. Si empezamos saltando de alegría tras la confirmación de que Radiohead estará en el BBK Live 2012 (otra banda a escuchar por fin en directo ), terminamos aún mejor con un concierto el sábado en petit comité (no estaríamos ni 30 personas) de una banda que suena muy bien en directo: The Monomes.

Banda joven, aunque éste es ya su segundo álbum (Sweet Champagne, 2011) y han tocado en sitios de envergadura como el Rock in Rio Brasil 2011. Recomendable verles y escucharles .

Y de puntillas empieza una nueva semana mientras otra termina.

Hacía tiempo que no traía canciones de anuncios. Pero ésta en concreto ha hecho que levante mi cabeza del portátil mientras simultaneo la escucha pasiva de televisión con mi trabajo en casa. Se trata de la canción que han seleccionado los creativos del comercial de la cámara Canon EOS 600D. La cuestión es que me sonaba. Buscando en los rincones de mi maltrecha memoria, la he identificado con un anuncio recurrente de una cadena de televisión musical de Alemania que escuchaba todas las mañanas cuando me levantaba en Berlín (Viva TV). Así que la satisfacción ha sido doble: he identificado una canción que me gustó en su día y me he acordado pasados los meses de ella (y eso que mi amigo Alzheimer me persigue).

Esta banda neozelandesa (¿alguna vez os he dicho que es mi destino soñado?) se hizo un hueco en el mercado musical con el segundo single de su álbum debut Passive Me, Aggressive You (2010).

Miércoles, ecuador de la semana y estoy baldada. Así que como hoy no rompa mi silencio con algo de energía, me voy a desinflar del todo.
