Ayer pude disfrutar de esta banda en directo y hoy era inevitable que se pasaran por aquí. Las sensaciones fueron muy buenas aunque con una pega: la duración. Hora y media justa con el bis incluido. Parece que ya sólo las grandes glorias se alargan más allá… 🙁

La sorpresa de la noche fue Tom Smith, la voz y alma del grupo. Es algo así como una lagartijilla en el escenario: se retuerce agarrado a su micrófono. Lo mismo toca un piano, que un teclado, una guitarra, un bajo, … Como bien dijo mi pitufo gruñón (que ayer estaba más risueño que nunca ;-)), tiene un gran parecido a Chris Martin, no sólo físicamente sino también en sus gestos y maneras. Y qué decir de la voz… potente y marca de la casa.

Nos deleitaron con pocas canciones de su último álbum In This Light and On This Evening (2009), pero sin duda, las que más nos movieron fueron las del anterior An End Has a Start (2007). Os dejo con un vídeo de una actuación en directo para que veáis la energía que transmiten, aunque el vídeoclip original está también muy bien.

Estos días ya empiezo a notar el aliento del estrés en mi nuca (así que veréis que el ritmo de este blog baja). Incertidumbres y malos tragos se han alternado durante la semana, así que la canción de este grupo inglés me viene que ni pintada: todo fin tiene un comienzo, y no sé si éste empieza a ser el comienzo del fin de algo…

No había escuchado nada de esta banda hasta que mi pitufo gruñón me la recomendó (igual hasta nos pasamos por el concierto que dan en el Rock Star Live de Barakaldo el 12 de Diciembre). Han tenido unos cuantos nombres a lo largo de su carrera: primero fueron The Pride, luego Snowfield y, por ahora, Editors 😉 . Pronto sacarán su nuevo disco: In This Light and On This Evening. Estaremos a la escucha 🙂
