Daft Punk – Get Lucky

La última creación de Daft Punk me da un buen rollo increíble (primer sencillo del cuarto álbum de estudio Random Access Memories). Termino moviendo los pies de manera involuntaria. Pero además, hoy os traigo una historia aún mejor para acompañar a la canción (porque veréis que el videoclip no es el de la banda ;-)). La leí en el blog de bandalismo y me conquistó: Allie Cole, secretaria de 34 años residente en una pequeña localidad del Reino Unido (Eastleigh), se marca unos bailecitos todas las mañanas mientras espera al autobús y escucha música con los cascos puestos. Alguien la graba y lo sube a YouTube. Resultado: Allie se convierte en una YouTubeStar. Y qué queréis que os diga… ojalá todos nos atreviéramos a bailar en la calle como lo hace ella. Me encanta.

Sia – Kill And Run

Que juntes en una banda sonora a Florence + The Machine, The xx, Jack White, Gotye, Sia, Lana Del Rey, Bryan Ferry, … hace llorar de alegría a la que escribe. Ese es el caso de la banda sonora de El Gran Gatsby (2013), un auténtico lujo.

Desde que la escuché por vez primera, la tengo en modo bucle sin parar en mis reproductores y me ha costado horrores seleccionar una única canción para romper el silencio. Muy pegadizo el «Hearts A Mess» de Gotye (no puedo evitar ponerme a silbar el estribillo instrumental). La aportación de The xx está muy en su línea: tranquilito y orquestal. Escuchar algo nuevo de Florence + The Machine es siempre una alegría, pero si además en la edición deluxe de la banda sonora te aportan otra versión con SBTRKT, mejor que mejor. Lana Del Rey es muy Lana Del Rey con su single «Young and Beautiful«. También podemos encontrar una versión peculiar del «Back to Black» de la difunta Amy Winehouse perpetrada por Beyoncé y André 3000.

Pero finalmente me he decantado por esta canción de Sia por dos razones: la primera y más obvia, porque me ha gustado (aunque a veces la confundo con Lana Del Rey…); la segunda, porque me parece increíble que esta Midas de singles aún no se hubiera pasado por aquí. Habitual colaboradora de DJs y otras especies para poner voz a sus creaciones (David Guetta, Flo Rida, Afrojack, Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, …) también sabe hacer perlas ella sola como es el caso de «Breathe Me». Seguro que algún silencio más cae de su cuenta.

We Are Standard – Can I Count On You?

Por fin arranco mis andanzas festivaleras en este 2013 y lo hago aquí en casita. Y es que este año es la segunda edición del MAZ Basauri que cuenta con un buen cartel indie: Christina Rosenvinge, Iván Ferreiro, Jero Romero, MobyDick, Najwa, … y por supuesto, nuestros protagonistas de hoy: We Are Standard.

Discazo el que se acaban de sacar de la manga los getxotarras desde sus estudios El Tigre en Deusto: Day (2013). Y para estrenarlo por todo lo alto, canción pegadiza y psicodélica.

Atención a la portada del disco porque se trata de una obra de Joseph Wright («Vesuvius in eruption») cedida a la discográfica por la Tate Modern de Londres.

Saint Lou Lou – Maybe You

Qué silencio más aterrador recorre este blog últimamente, ¿no? Ya no solo por la que escribe… También vosotros podéis decir algo en forma de comentario y nadie saldrá herido ;-). Dicho esto, vamos al tema (musical).

Para afrontar este medio verano que nos ha llegado sin avisar (y sin dejar a la primavera saludar), lo mejor es algo relajadito y con imágenes playeras aliñado con la voz de dos hermanas gemelas australianas emigradas a Suecia. Se hicieron famosas dejando esta canción en SoundCloud y consiguiendo un buen puñado de excepcionales remixes por parte de otros artistas. Y ya está… no tienen más. Un chicas de un único hit, por ahora ;-).

Yo os dejo hoy la canción original. Por cierto, no intentéis buscar a las artistas por el nombre de Saint Lou Lou porque se lo han cambiado y ahora se llaman Say Lou Lou.

Anthony Hamilton & Elayna Boynton – Freedom

Últimamente parece que voy de silencio peliculero en silencio peliculero. Si la última en pasarse por aquí fue Adele con su oscarizado Skyfall, ahora le toca a un temazo descubierto gracias a «Django Desencadenado». Antes de entrar en la canción, decir que es un PELICULÓN (fijaos que he usado las mayúsculas porque en mi casa lo estoy gritando ahora mismo). Para más detalles, os dejo esta escena, que no contiene spoilers y parece escrita por los mismísimos Monty Python.

Ahora volvemos a la banda sonora, que como no podía ser de otra forma en una película de Tarantino, es canela fina. Fue ver la escena y prendarme con esta joya en la garganta R&B de Anthony Hamilton y Elayna Boynton.

Por cierto, que así, sin darme cuenta, ¡este blog ha cumplido cinco años!. Hagamos una fiesta: la música la pongo yo ;-).
