Neneh Cherry y Youssou N’Dour – 7 Seconds

Neneh CherryRetomamos la rama multicultural con esta canción (Man, 1996) interpretada por un senegalés (Youssou N’Dour) y una sueca con raíces africanas (Neneh Cherry). Todo un canto contra el racismo con frases como éstas:

Con esta melodía descubrí a Neneh Cherry y posteriormente a su hermano Eagle-Eye Cherry (del que también caerán recomendaciones). Hay que ver la de cosas que podemos hacer en siete segundos… Un, dos, tres, respondan otra vez 😉

Amaral – Kamikaze

Amaral - KamikazeEl 27 de mayo sale a la venta el nuevo disco de Amaral: Gato Negro-Dragón Rojo. Y ya tenemos un anticipo de lo que será su primer single. Os lo cuelgo aquí para que disfrutéis antes de que os hagan odiar la canción de tanto ponerla en todas partes.

Eso es precisamente lo que me ha pasado a mí con Amaral. Me conquistaron desde su primer disco, sobre todo tras escucharles en directo una noche cuando aún no se sabía quién era esta pareja. Con Una pequeña parte del mundo aún eran unos completos desconocidos pero fue llegar Estrella de Mar y cambiar todo: venga a escuchar su música en todas las esquinas… lo que te lleva a aborrecerla un poco.

Eso sí, para mí es innegable que atesoran una gran calidad.

Annie LenoxHoy toca una joya de hace unos cuantos años (Diva, 1992) de la mano de la voz de Eurythmics: Annie Lennox. Poco se puede decir que no se sepa ya de esta artista. Su voz tiene personalidad propia.

Y la canción representa a la perfección esos momentos en los que dejamos de escuchar a las personas que nos importan y hacemos daño sin darnos cuenta.

Najwajean – Crime

NajwaJeanPor fin han vuelto Najwajean (igual que yo… que esta semana he estado de silencio total), justo diez años después de su primer disco. Los componentes de este grupo son la actriz Najwa Nimri y el polifacético Carlos Jean. Su nuevo disco se llama Till it breaks (2008) y lo han estrenado con este tema tan sugerente y que tan bien se ajusta a la desgarrada voz de Najwa.

Pues como el propio álbum dice, lo escucharemos hasta que se rompa.

Iván Ferreiro – Mentiroso Mentiroso [Recomendación]

Ivan FerreiroLa recomendación de esta semana viene de la mano de erZapito. Se trata de una canción del ex-cantante de Los Piratas (o Piratas a secas, dependiendo de cuándo se mire 😉 ). Su disco, de mismo nombre, está recién salidito del horno y encima os lo podéis descargar de forma gratuita desde su propia página web.

Yo, que me llevé una gran decepción cuando los Piratas se separaron, también colocaré alguno de sus temas por aquí. Por cierto, el que no haya una coma entre las palabras «mentiroso mentiroso» no es un fallo. Está así porque Iván quería «jugar con la combinación nombre y adjetivo y con la doble negación«.
