Peter Gabriel – The Book Of Love [Recomendación]

The Book of lovePrimera recomendación tras el parón veraniego. Viene de la mano de Nacho, persona inlinkeable… por el momento 😉 , con el que comparto gustos musicales. Varias son las sugerencias que me ha mandado, pero ésta me ha gustado especialmente. Os dejo con él:

Hoy me ocurrió algo curioso… estuve todo el día trabajando en Madrid y a la vuelta a casa en AVE un poco agotado, la verdad, me quedé totalmente dormido con los cascos del hilo musical del tren. Al despertar ya casi llegando a Málaga sonaba la siguiente canción y mi primer pensamiento fue que era un sonido tan dulce, triste, y una voz tan sumamente característica la de Peter Gabriel que seguro que, en caso de no conocer la canción, podría ser de las que te encantarían.

Y, por supuesto, estaba en la cierto 🙂 . Se trata de una versión de Peter Gabriel para la película ¿Bailamos? de la canción de The Magnetic Fields. Otra melodía más para nuestra pelea de versiones en el grupo Silencio.

Matchbox Twenty – How Far We’ve Come [Recomendación]

La recomendación de esta semana viene de la mano de una muy buena amiga no-digital, es decir, de esas que conozco desde hace mucho tiempo y sin ordenadores de por medio. Le encanta la música y tenemos gustos parecidos (aunque algunos son de traca…. de hecho no pienso poner a esa artista que tú y yo sabemos 😉 ). Os dejo con Ainara:

¿Has escuchado How Far We’ve Come de Matchbox Twenty?. Es la canción que me pone las pilas todos los días a las horas intempestivas a las que me levanto. Prueba, ya verás cómo funciona

Pues tendré que probar… porque soy una dormilona de órdago y siempre llego tarde a trabajar :S

Curiosa la canción. Tiene un ritmo endiablado que te da un subidón… Sin embargo, la letra es catastrofista a más no poder.

The Cranberries – Zombie [Recomendación]

The CranberriesComo esta semana ando igual que el título de esta canción, os dejo con la recomendación que me hacía ya hace un tiempo Antonio (llevo mucho retraso con vuestros envíos, pero sed pacientes 😉 ).

¿Te gustaría pinchar algo de los Cranberries? Por ejemplo Zombie, con el vídeo oficial, que fue un bombazo en el tiempo, diez años ahora y es parte de la banda sonora de nuestra vida, ¿no te parece?.

Una canción protesta de esta banda irlandesa ante el conflicto armado que asolaba su país y que podemos encontrar dentro del disco No Need to Argue (1994). Sin duda, los niños son los más perjudicados de estos enfrentamientos. De hecho, Zombie fue escrita en memoria de dos chicos, Jonathan Ball y Tim Parry, asesinados en un atentado bomba del IRA.

Vega4 – Life Is Beautiful [Recomendación]

Vega4Hoy llega una recomendación muy esperada por mí, dado que los gustos de Unai Goikoetxeta son muy afines a los míos. Y, por supuesto, no me ha defraudado. Aquí os la dejo:

Bueno.. como lo prometido era deuda… pues aquí te paso una recomendación para que escuches y si quieres pongas en el blog 🙂

La canción se llama «Life is Beautiful» de un grupo disuelto recientemente
llamado Vega4. El grupo estaba compuesto por dos irlandeses, un neozelandés y un canadiense. Y esta canción precisamente ha sonado en un buen puñado de series americanas, como Anatomía de Grey, One Tree Hill, Kyle XY y Ghost Whisperer.

Lynyrd Skynyrd – Free Bird [Recomendación]

Lynyrd SkynyrdVuelvo a la palestra musical con una recomendación externa (tengo un montón en lista de espera… así que que nadie se me impaciente 😉 ). Esta vez la hace Pablo, que no tiene blog al que enlazar, pero sí un muy buen gusto musical (te perdonaremos lo primero…):

Impresionante canción con uno de los mejores solos de guitarra de la historia. Un himno a la libertad, escrito en homenaje a la muerte de uno de los mejores guitarristas de todos los tiempos, Duane Allman, de los Allman Brothers Band.
